With the fall of the Wall and the designation of Berlin as the capital of a reunified Germany, the revitalization of the city began, particularly in Potsdamer Platz and Leipziger Platz.

Rather than a classic restoration, and following the plan proposed by Hilmer & Sattler in 1993, Leipziger Platz became a future-oriented, resolutely dynamic and modern space.
Canada decided to build its Kanada Haus in line with this vision.

While harmonizing with its immediate environment, the embassy reflects the diversity and distinctive character of Canadians, whether through the choice of materials used, the innovative design or the works of art integrated into its architecture.
